Rom 12:2 says “that we are transformed by the renewing of our minds”. The Greek word for transform is Metamorphoo. A process akin to a caterpillar morphing into a beautiful butterfly over a period of time.
Proverbs 13:20 Says. “ If you want to grow in wisdom then spend some time walking with wise men” I would quickly add, wise women as well.
Apart from the Bible there is much to be gained by reading the books of others who have successfully walked with God in many different areas and directions. Other peoples incite can save us a lot of negative hindsight
Levin Hope centre has a wonderful library, full of literary treasure. Books full of priceless information. Books that will inspire, encourage, enlighten, instruct and bring fresh understanding to your own personal walk in life and with the Lord.
I want to encourage you to enrich yourself with the knowledge gained by others and allow their writings to help in your own transformation process.
Discovering your Holy Discontent – ( Fuelling the fire that that ignites personal vision ) by Bill Hybels.
What is the one aspect of this broken world that, when you see it, touch it, or get near it, you just can’t stand it. What reality is so troubling that it thrust’s you off the couch and into action. This is what Bill Hybels refers to as a Holy Discontent, a personal “ firestorm of frustration “ that although sparked by that which is terribly wrong can provoke fierce determination in you to set things right. It is often in these eye opening, heart hungering moments when you hear God whisper “ I feel the exact same way about this situation. Now lets go solve it together “
Hybels invites you to to consider the dramatic impact your life will have when you willingly convert the frustration of your Holy Discontent into fuel for changing the world or at the very least your own section of it. Using the examples from the Bible, his own life, and the compelling experience of others. Hybels shows you how you can.
Find and feed your personal area of Holy Discontent
Fight for it, even when things get risky
Follow it through good times and bad.
A great read.
